7.3.4. Approach unlock function
When you approach the vehicle with the Intelligent Key, the vehicle (all the doors) will be unlocked automatically by the approach unlock function (the operation range is around 1 m (3 ft)). This function is disabled by the default setting. You can enable this function by the vehicle information display. For additional information, see

When you approach the vehicle from the front, the approach unlock function may not operate unless you get close to the door.
The approach unlock function may not operate under the following conditions:
When the Intelligent Key is placed inside of the vehicle.
When you place the Intelligent Key outside of the vehicle for a period of time. (When a door is unlocked and locked, the approach unlock function will be activated.)
When 8 days have passed since the vehicle was locked.
When you lock the vehicle with the power door lock switch.
If the approach unlock function is activated while the selective unlock function is turned on, the selective unlock function is deactivated automatically. If the selective unlock function is activated while the approach unlock function is turned on, the approach unlock function is deactivated automatically.
Once the approach unlock function is activated, the selective unlock function needs to be activated with the vehicle information display if you want to use the selective unlock function.
