3.6.2.3. Approved i-Size ISOFIX child restraint positions

- X:Seating position not suitable for i-Size "universal" child restraint systems.
- i-U:Suitable for i-Size "ISOFIX" forward and rearward facing child restraint systems.
- i-UF:Suitable for forward-facing i-Size "universal" child restraint systems only.
- (Rear seats only) Move the head restraint to the upper most position or, if necessary, remove it in case if any interference with the child restraint. Do not remove head restraint when using a booster cushion only.
- Adjust the front seat(s) slide position sufficiently forward and/or the seat height adjustment (where fitted) to the uppermost position to ensure no contact between child seat and back of front seat.
Never install a rear-facing child restraint system on the front passenger seat without first deactivating the passenger air bag with the front passenger air bag switch (where fitted), see
. In a frontal collision, supplemental front-impact air bags inflate with great force. An inflating supplemental front-impact air bag could seriously injure or kill your child.
Child restraints approved to ECE Regulation NO. 44.04 are clearly marked with the categories such as Universal, Semi-universal or ISOFIX.
