8.19.2. Operating ProPILOT Assist

  1. Push the ProPILOT Assist switch (A). This turns on the ProPILOT Assist system.

    • The ProPILOT Assist status indicator (B) illuminates in white.

  2. Accelerate or decelerate your vehicle to the desired speed and push down the <CANCEL> switch to SET- (C).

    The ProPILOT Assist system begins to automatically maintain the vehicle set speed. The ProPILOT Assist activation indicator (D) and ProPILOT Assist status indicator (B) illuminate in blue. When a vehicle ahead is detected and travelling at a speed of 30 km/h (20 MPH) or below and the <CANCEL> switch is pushed down to SET-, the vehicle set speed is 30 km/h (20 MPH).

When the Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention system (where fitted) are enabled in the settings menu of the vehicle information display, turning the ProPILOT Assist system on will turn on these systems at the same time. If the Emergency Lane Assist (ELA) system (where fitted) are disabled In the settings menu, the ELA system will automatically be turned on when the Steering Assist system is active. When the <CANCEL> switch is pushed down to SET- under the following conditions, the ProPILOT Assist system cannot be set and the vehicle set speed indicator (1) blinks for approximately 2 seconds:

  • When travelling below 30 km/h (20 MPH) and a vehicle ahead is not detected

  • When the shift lever is moved out of the D (Drive) position

  • When the parking brake is applied

  • When the brakes are operated by the driver

  • When ProPILOT Park (where fitted) is activated

  • When the ESP system is off. For additional information, see

  • When the ESP system (including the traction control system) is activated

  • When the [SNOW] mode or [OFF-ROAD] mode is selected (4WD models)

  • When a wheel is slipping

  • When any door is open

  • When the driver’s seat belt is not fastened
