RECYCLE YOUR CAR FOR FREE
Nothing lasts forever, but every old vehicle contains valuable raw materials that can be recycled into the product cycle again. Nissan are committed to providing owners an environmentally friendly way to dispose of your car at the end of its useful life, free of charge.
CONDITIONS FOR FREE TAKE BACK
Free take back is available for all vehicles regardless of age. In line with the End of Life Vehicle Directive, your Nissan will be accepted free of charge at an appointed take back facility, provided:
- The vehicle is a passenger car or light commercial vehicle that has up to nine seats and weighs a maximum of 3.5 tonnes.
- The vehicle contains all its essential components, in particular, the engine, transmission, coachwork, wheels or catalytic converter (if originally fitted).
- No waste has been added to the vehicle (e.g. household and garden waste, extra tyres).
THE CARTAKEBACK NETWORK
Nissan is working in partnership with CarTakeBack Ltd to provide free take back for Nissan and Datsun owners.
The CarTakeBack network covers all regions of the UK. All take back and treatment facilities operate in conformity with the BIS (Department for Business, Innovation & Skills) and relevant environment regulator requirements of England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland.
Since December 2014, vehicles are all treated to meet the strict recycling target set by the End of Life Vehicle Directive – 95% of the weight of the vehicle.
